I have been a patient with Comfort Dental since February and have had two cleanings, a tooth extraction, a sinus lift with bone graft, two dental implants and two fillings. Doctor Angel Vasquez performed all the procedures except for the cleanings and is an excellent dentist with a great patient interaction. Comfort Dental is very safety oriented with Covid precautions and their prices are reasonable and explained upfront before treatment begins. I highly recommend them.

I haven't had the work done but I currently have a really bad infection and they got me setup with an oral surgeon really quick compared to other dental places. All of the staff that I interacted with today was super helpful and very kind. I had a lot of questions and concerns and I didn't leave with one of them being unanswered. No one really likes going to the dentist but I actually was relieved a little after I left today.

What Are Porcelain Onlays?

Porcelain onlays are often referred to as partial crowns, and they are generally placed on your existing tooth as a base and fitted onto the tooth. It is done to strengthen your tooth, to restore its shape, and to prevent any further damage. While a porcelain inlay is appropriate when there is no damage to the cusps of the tooth, a porcelain onlay is used when the damage is a little more extensive.

What Is the Procedure for Porcelain Onlays?

First, the decayed area of the tooth is removed. A mold of the tooth is taken, and digital data is sent to the dental lab that will create a restoration porcelain onlay. Your porcelain onlay will be ready for placement in about 2-3 weeks, so a temporary onlay will be placed on the tooth for the time being.

During your next visit, the onlay will be placed into your mouth and set with cement. Your tooth will look natural, and you won’t be able to tell the difference from a natural tooth.
